Broiler Growth Model

Broiler nutritionists are accustomed to using least cost formulation programs to formulate feeds for their broilers, but until the advent of simulation models, such as the Broiler Growth Model produced by EFG Software, they were not able to predict the biological and economic consequences of using those feeds in commercial broiler operations.

Our latest development is another huge step forward in assisting nutritionists to optimise the feeds and feeding programmes for commercial broilers.




Pig Growth Model

EFG Software has recently developed a program that optimises nutritional strategies in pig production. This has been accomplished by integrating their feed formulation program (WinFeed) and Pig Growth Model through an optimisation routine.

Optimum feeding of pigs has long been the aim of production nutritionists in the industry. Even though many pigs are probably fed at close to optimum levels within individual businesses, because the number of variables influencing optimum nutrient levels is very large, the use of formal optimisation tools would be of considerable benefit to the industry. But although such tools have been discussed for a long time in pig feeding circles, few such tools have been developed for practical use.


WinFeed 3.0

winfeed3-homeWinFeed is a Windows-based feed formulation program developed by EFG Software that has been used by nutritionists and students of nutrition since the early 1990’s.

The current version, Winfeed 3.0, is available in two formats, a single-user standalone version, and a network version which enables several users to work independently, but share the same data. This version is ideal for use in a university teaching environment for students of nutrition.


EFG Feed Formulator (Winfeed) with Multi-mix

The EFG Feed Formulator has been evolving, and after many requests from our clients now includes a multi-mix module. This allows optimum use to be made of ingredients where supply is limited, or where excess stock needs to be consumed.

Mill file

After specifying the mixing order of ingredients in each feed, it is possible to export the results of a multi-mix solution into a format that can be directly imported by the mill. We would consider adding other mill file formats as required.
